How to Fix Pokemon Go Crashes on Android and iPhone

No doubt Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm. Now Pokemon Go is officially the most popular game on earth with millions of downloads on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store iTunes. Pokemon GO is an augmented reality Pokemon game for Android and iOS mobile devices created by Niantic. This game allows players to search real-world locations for hidden Pokemon and capture them. Unfortunately, this new augmented-reality game has a few glitches, crashes, and bugs. If you’ve encountered a problem while playing Pokémon Go, read on to find out How to Fix Pokemon Go Crashes on Android and iPhone and other common complaints. Below are some potential solutions to your Pokemon woes we have gathered or discovered for you.

How To Fix Pokemon Go Crashes on Start Up on Android

Have you experienced Pokémon Go Crashes on Start Up on Android? or Pokémon Go shows a spinning Pokéball? Well, this is the most common problem encountered by Pokemon trainers around the world. This is due to the huge number of players connecting all over the world at the same time. As a result, the servers have constantly been crashing.

There is nothing a trainer can do about it. If you see a spinning symbol of a Pokéball in the top-left corner of the screen, then it means your device is attempting to reach the Pokémon Go servers. Once you are re-connected or the servers are back the icon should disappear.

How to Play Pokémon Go During Server Error On Android

To Play Pokémon Go During Server Error On Android, try the below solutions;

Force Quit the App and Sign in: When you see “Our servers are experiencing issues” message when you try to log in to their account, this issue may be owing to the server being completely capped out. In this case, wait for some time and try to sign in again. For the best result,  force quit the app first and try to sign in again.

Restarting Your Device: If you can’t open the Pokémon Go app at all then try restarting your device and trying again. If it still doesn’t work, then there may be server issues. If the servers are fine and you still can’t open Pokémon Go, then open Google Play Store and see if there is an option to update the app. If updates are available, update the app.

Uninstall and Reinstall Pokémon Go: If the above solutions still don’t work, try to uninstall and reinstall the Pokémon Go app. Your data should be saved to the cloud, so when you relaunch the Pokémon Go app, sign in as you normally do and all your progress should be saved.

Disable the GPS/Location: If you are greeted with a “Server unavailable. Please try again later” message when you fire up Pokemon GO on your phone. Go to your phone settings,  disable the GPS/Location on your phone. After you disabled your GPS/Location launch the Pokemon GO app and attempt to log in. Once you’re in the game, enable GPS again and you should be ready to go.

Check Your Device: Pokémon Go works on a wide range of Android devices, but if you have an older device, it might not work. If you want to play Pokémon Go on an Android device you need Android 4.4 KitKat or newer installed, and a display resolution of 1280 x 720 or higher. See below the minimum specifications for Pokémon Go to work. If your device doesn’t match these specifications, then you won’t be able to play Pokémon Go.

# Pokémon Go is optimized for smartphones, not tablets.
# Pokémon Go is compatible with Android devices that have 2GB RAM or more and have Android Version 4.4 – 6.0 installed.
# Compatibility is not guaranteed for devices without GPS capabilities or devices that are connected only to Wi-Fi networks
# Not compatible with Android devices that use Intel Atom processors.
# Compatibility with tablet devices is not guaranteed.
# Pokémon Go App may not run on certain devices even if they have compatible OS versions installed.

Unfortunately, Pokemon Go has Stopped Working Error FIX on Android

1. Open Settings on your smartphone.
2. Go to Developers Option.
3. If you don’t see developers’ option in settings, it’s because you haven’t yet activated it.
4. To activate developers’ options, go to About Phone in Settings and tap on Build Number for nearly 7 times.
5. The developer option will get activated.
6. In developer options, you will find “Don’t Keep Activities”.
7. Most probably it will be checked, so simply uncheck it.
8. Now start Pokemon Go again and it will hopefully work.

Clear the app cache or data: These two solutions are often thought of as miracle cures for misbehaving Android apps. To clear your app cache and data, follow the steps;
1. Navigate to your Settings menu.
2. Scroll to Apps subhead and tap it.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Tap on the app which you wish to remove data for.
5. On the next page, tap either clear cache or clear data.

Factory Data Reset: This is the last resort, and it is not recommended, perform at your own risk. However, this method seems to work for some. To perform a factory data reset follow these steps. Before you reset your Android see options for backing up your data.
1. Open the Settings
2. Under “Personal,” touch Backup & reset. You may need to enter your pattern, PIN, or password.
3. Under “Personal data,” touch Factory data reset.

5. If you have a screen lock, you’ll need to enter your pattern, PIN, or password.
6. When prompted, touch Erase everything to erase all data from your device’s internal storage.
7. When your device has finished erasing, select the option to reboot your device.
8. You’ll now see the Welcome screen just as you did when you turned the device on for the first time.
9. Now download Pokemon Go and sign in again. It might work.

Pokémon Go Crashes on Start Up on iPhone

Turn Data On and off: If the app becomes unresponsive, and you can’t open up any menus or the Pokéball you’ve thrown stops spinning, then first see if you can get it to work again by turning your data connection off and then on again.

Update the App:  If Pokémon Go continues to crash while you play it, or you feel slow and laggy when it does run, then make sure you have the latest version of the app installed. On iPhone devices open up the app store where you downloaded the app from, search for Pokémon Go, and if there’s an update waiting you should see a button to ‘Update’.

Log Out and Sign In Again: If your Pokemon Go doesn’t seem to have a proper connection with the server, you could try logging your user account out and re-login using your credentials. Wait for some time and follow the steps;
1. Press the Home button to leave the game as it is.
2. Now, Open a new app. Just try to play around with it for some time.
3. Next up, Double-press the Home button to enter the multitasking screen.
4. Tap on the Pokémon Go card to reenter the app.

Delete and Reinstall: This is the last resort, this method is tried and tested to troubleshoot the crashing issue. Simply delete Pokémon Go and reinstall it. To do this, follow the instructions below;

1. Press and hold the app.
2. Tap on “X” and then tap on Delete in the pop-up to confirm.
3. Launch App Store and download the app again as usual.

Reset All Settings: Resetting your iPhone settings can help you get rid of this issue.  Although we wouldn’t suggest resetting the whole iPhone/iPad for playing Pokemon Go, you could give it a try if you are a very serious Pokemon fan.

1. Open Settings on your iPhone → Tap on General. → Scroll down and tap on Reset.
2. Tap on Reset All Settings → Tap on Reset All Settings again to confirm.

How to make it work for Jailbreak

1: Launch Cydia on your iOS device. Navigate to the Sources tab.
2: Tap on Edit followed by Add. Now, type in “https://diablowsky.yourepo.com/” as the source and tap on Add Source.
3: Now go to the Search tab and go and install Pokepatch.

Battery Drain Solution
Pokémon Go is a graphically intensive game that uses both your data connection and GPS – a potent combination for draining the battery of your smartphone while you play it. Thankfully, there’s Pokémon Go’s battery saver mode. To enable the battery saver mode, open up the Pokémon Go app, and then tap on the “Setting” button on the top-right corner of the screen.

Scroll down the menu until you see ‘Battery Saver’. Tap it to select it (a tick will appear), and then you can turn your phone upside down, which will dim the screen or you can follow the below steps;

1. Navigate to Settings > Power Options. Enable Power Saving Mode.
2. Remove Widgets from desktops and close background applications.
3. Disable Wi-fi.
4. Turn off your phone while charging and try to keep it at high %.
5. Navigate to Settings and enable Battery Saver mode in Pokemon Go.
6. If you haven’t already, dim your screen as much as possible.
7. Auto Power down your phone and give it 5 minutes to rest.

This will save precious battery life while you play Pokémon Go. Turning off sound effects, music and vibration will also help keep your battery from draining too fast.

Since Pokemon Go makes use of your location, it is a good idea to use the Google Offline map. Download Google Maps from your respective App store. In the App settings, find Offline Maps and add whatever area you’re currently in.
