Town Hall Level 11: The Pinnacle of Village Fortification
Witness the grandeur of Town Hall level 11, the epitome of village fortification.
Shield Enhancements: Major Tweaks and Adjustments
Prepare for significant changes to the shield system:
- 30% destruction grants 12 hours, 60% grants 14 hours, and 90% grants 16 hours of protection.
- Attacking while shielded will shorten the remaining shield time.
- Destroying the Town Hall no longer automatically triggers a shield.
- Attackers must deploy at least 1/3 of a full army to activate the defender’s shield.
Village Guard: Temporary Protection from Attacks
Utilize the Village Guard, a miniature shield that safeguards your village from attacks when you leave the game, have just defended without gaining a shield, or purchase it for gems.
Village Guard Functionality
- Protects your village from attacks for a brief period (15 minutes to 3 hours, depending on League level).
- Activates automatically after your Shield expires or triggers a 15-minute guard after a defense that does not result in a Shield.
- Can be manually purchased for 2 hours from the in-game shop.
- Permits uninterrupted raiding and other activities without the risk of being attacked.
- Counts towards your Personal Break timer.
Shields: Protecting Your Village from Invasions
- Once the Village Guard expires or you exit the game, your village becomes vulnerable to attacks.
- Shields provide extended protection against enemy attacks.
- Free shields are activated when you sustain significant damage from an attack.
- Purchased shields range from 1 to 7 days in duration, with varying cooldown periods (5, 10, and 35 days).
- Attacking while shielded consumes shield time, with the initial attack costing 3 hours and subsequent attacks progressively costing more.
- Clan Wars and single-player campaigns do not consume shield time.
Contrasting Shields and Village Guards
While both Shields and Village Guards serve as defensive mechanisms, they offer distinct advantages:
VILLAGE GUARD
- Short intervals (15 minutes to 3 hours)
- Available when Shield is inactive
- Continuous daily purchase option (23-hour cooldown)
- Counts towards Personal Break timer
- Attacking does not consume Village Guard time
- Duration based on Trophy League
SHIELD
- Extended intervals (12 hours to 7 days)
- Can be used at any time, but purchasing a Shield cancels Village Guard
- Cooldown required after purchase (5-35 days)
- Does not contribute to Personal Break timer
- Attacking consumes Shield time
- Duration is consistent for all players
Shields
Shields operate differently since December 2015:
- Town Hall Destruction: No longer grants a shield to defenders.
- Destruction Percentage: A minimum of 30% destruction is required for a shield, and attackers must deploy a sufficient number of troops (at least 33%).
Shields can be used flexibly during attacks without breaking them entirely. Each shield is a resource that can be used as desired to enhance gameplay.
Town Hall and Clan Castle Loot
Town Halls and Clan Castles differ from regular storage buildings:
- Complete Destruction: To obtain loot from these structures, they must be completely destroyed.
- Spell Vulnerability: Town Halls and Clan Castles are not immune to damaging spells, allowing for faster destruction through Earthquake or Lightning Spells.
Loot availability is not guaranteed. Town Halls only contain a portion of collected resources (excluding uncollected resources in mines, pumps, or drills). Clan Castles solely house War Win Bonuses.
Shield Types After Defense
The duration of shields received after a defense depends on the destruction percentage sustained:
- 12-Hour Shield: 30% destruction
- 14-Hour Shield: 60% destruction
- 16-Hour Shield: 90% destruction
No shield is granted if the attacker deploys less than 33% of a full army, as determined by the defender’s Town Hall level.
While losing a defense does not guarantee a shield, it grants a Village Guard lasting 15 minutes to 3 hours, depending on the league level. Conversely, it’s possible to receive a shield without losing the defense.
Town Hall and Clan Castle Loot Storage
Protecting the Town Hall protects resources. Town Halls now store loot equivalent to approximately 1 Gold, 1 Elixir, and a maximum of 20% of Dark Elixir storages. The amount of lootable resources depends on the defender’s Town Hall level, with higher levels storing more resources.
Goblins inflict double damage to Town Halls and Clan Castles, treating them as ordinary resource buildings. However, these structures must be entirely destroyed to yield resources and are susceptible to spells.
Army Boosts
All heroes and army buildings can now be boosted for one hour at a cost of 5 gems, replacing the previous 10-gem, two-hour boosts.
Boosts enhance production speed of Barracks, Dark Barracks, Spell Factory, and Dark Spell Factory by 4X. Hero healing rates can also be quadrupled.
Obstacle Relocation
Village area size was expanded by 20% in the December 2015 update. To accommodate this expansion without disrupting existing village layouts, it was added to the outer edges of the usable area.
Obstacles outside the usable area remained undisturbed. However, those partially within the usable area were moved inward to avoid interference with obstacle planning.
Healer Healing Effect Reduction
Stacking multiple Healers to heal a single target (e.g., a Hero) was deemed excessive. To address this, the stacking effect of multiple Healers diminishes after 4 healers and significantly decreases after 6 healers.
While multiple Healers still provide significant healing, they are most effective when deployed in moderate formations.
Clan Wars Preparation Day Reduction
Preparation Day in Clan Wars has been reduced by one hour to 23 hours. This allows clans to engage in epic battles more frequently.

I went to bed, woke up and lost a total of 60 trophies and about 400,000 elixir…. i need 2.5 million MINIMUM to upgrade anything at the level im at…. i see this new update as greed by supercell…. It is their way of making you have to pay real money to upgrade stuff. I will thank them for this new change though, because it has broke my addiction of playing it.
agree…. It is Supercell being greedy by making people pay real money to get upgrades. What they will find is that they will end up losing a lot of players in the process…. I will thank them for one thing though….They broke my addiction to the game. I haven't logged all day. I went to bed last night, woke up and lost 60 trophies and 700,000 elixir…. so i hung up my gloves until this flaw is fixed or geared around people who don't want to spend $20 for shields just to upgrade 1 thing…. NOBODY is going to keep 5 builders busy anymore that's for sure…. They ruined the game with this update.
