How to Screenshot Snapchat Without Notification (Android & iPhone)

Snapchat is currently one of the hottest messaging apps and a hugely popular photo and video sharing service that allows users to send pictures and videos to friends and family that expire after a maximum of 10 seconds. The whole point behind Snapchat is that anything sent between users is not considered permanent unless of course, the recipient decides to take a screenshot of that Snapchat. But when someone takes a screenshot of a snap, the sender is notified alongside the number of screenshots taken. Read on to find out How to Screenshot Snapchat Without Notification or how to screenshot a snap on Snapchat Without Them Knowing 2018.

If you take a screenshot like you normally do on your device by pressing the “Power” + “Volume down/Home” buttons, the sender gets a notification that you have taken a screenshot of his /her Snap. This is a built-in system that you can’t do anything about it. Right now Snapchat doesn’t support saving received messages (photos and videos), however, there exist many possible ways to screenshot Snapchat.

Snapchat’s latest update which is available for both iOS and Android devices has made capturing images and snapshots of video before they expire easier than ever. The new update has added a new feature “Tap to view” to its features. This new feature allows users to simply tap a video or image in order to see it on the screen reducing the additional hassle of holding your finger on the screen and at the same time a screenshot of it.

Snpachat’s built-in screenshot ability still notifies the sender that you have screenshotted his/her snap. So, in this guide, we will walk you through on how you can take a screenshot on Snapchat Snap without notifying the sender.

How to take Snapchat screenshot without them knowing

There are two methods of taking a screenshot on Snapchat without them knowing- first is the manual way or a little tweak with your device settings and the second method is through third-party apps. Let’s first see the first method.

1. First, launch the Snapchat app from your device.
2. Once opened Snapchat, swipe right to access the list of your sent and received Snaps. The received Snapchat should automatically load and display ‘Tap to Open’ in the list view, but if it displays ‘Tap to load’ then tap it, but be sure not to open it.
3. Once you’ve loaded the Snapchat, simply toggle Airplane mode on. If you are on an iPhone you can do this by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to pull up the menu, and then tapping the airplane icon. On an Android phone, you need to swipe down from to top of the screen.
4. Once Airplane Mode is activated, head back to Snapchat and open the Chat section.
5. As you normally do, now take a screenshot.
6. Quit the app now and make sure that you closed the app and it isn’t running in the background. iOS users should double click the home button and swipe the app to close it, and Android users should access the multitasking window and close it from there.
7. Now De-activate Airplane mode and re-open the Snapchat app to carry on your conversation. The message will remain as unopened, and the fact that you have taken a screenshot with remaining a secret.
